Remnants of the Oldest Board Game Found

gamingStonesTurkish archeologist Haluk Sağlamtimur of Ege University in İzmir found several counting tokens in a burial site at Başur Höyük in southeast Turkey. The 5000-year-old artifacts provide evidence that board games started in this part of the Fertile Crescent region in Egypt, which was inhabited as early as 7000 B.C.
