Next in line as part of the CUNY Graduate Center’s Utopian Studies Seminar on utopia and games is Ahmed Khaled Towfik’s Utopia (2009). Set in the near future in Egypt, the book explores what happens when bored rich kids living in a heavily-guarded gated community called “Utopia” decide to have some fun among the plebs! It’s a fast read and well worth it.
The book discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, at 4:15 in Rm. 6417 at the Graduate Center. Francesco Crocco will be leading the discussion.
